According to UNICEF, in just one month of conflict, the war in Ukraine triggered the largest long-term movement of minors since World War II. The role of Caritas International in the city of Suceava, Romania, was crucial in providing support and shelter to minors in vulnerable conditions, often unaccompanied.

At the heart of the response to the Ukrainian refugee crisis after February 2022 was the unwavering spirit of solidarity across the small border-crossing city of Siret. Despite the immense challenges faced, both NGOs and volunteers were decisive to an effective responsonse.
